Speciality Coatings was founded by industry professionals with decades of hands-on experience in both the application and formulation of coating systems. Unlike importers and resellers, we manufacture our own products here in New Zealand — which means we can formulate specifically for local conditions, provide direct technical support, and stand behind the performance of every product we make. Our focus is on solving real problems, not just selling paint.
Yes — all Speciality Coatings products are manufactured in New Zealand. We operate manufacturing facilities in both the North and South Island, allowing us to formulate and test our products under actual New Zealand conditions. Buying Speciality Coatings means supporting a New Zealand-owned business and getting a product built for our climate.
Our S300 Roof Coating System is our flagship product for roof restoration and is suitable for concrete tile, metal, and decramastic roofs. It provides excellent adhesion, UV resistance, and long-term flexibility. For more complex or commercial roof restoration projects, our specialist membrane systems — available through approved applicators — may be more appropriate. If you're unsure which system is right for your roof, contact our technical team and we'll help you choose.
Application conditions vary by product. As a general rule, surfaces should be clean, dry, and free from standing water before application — and most products should not be applied in temperatures below 10°C or when rain is expected within the drying window. Some specialist systems have greater tolerance for moisture, but correct surface preparation is always critical. Check the product data sheet for specific requirements, or contact us if you have questions about your project conditions.
The right product depends on several factors — the substrate type, the level of exposure, whether the project is residential or commercial, and whether it needs to be DIY-applied or installed by an approved applicator. Our resources section includes application guides and product data sheets to help you compare options. You're also welcome to contact our team directly — we're happy to assess your project and recommend the most appropriate system.
Yes — technical support is one of the things that sets us apart.
