Why It Matters

Fix It Before It Spreads

Most major roof failures start out small — a hairline crack, a spot of surface rust, a lifted flashing, or a patch of moss holding moisture against the surface. Left alone, each of these lets water in, and water is what turns a ten-minute fix into a full roof replacement. Catching and sealing these problems early is the single most cost-effective thing you can do for your roof.

Our repair products are made for exactly these jobs. Formulated and manufactured in New Zealand, they're designed to treat the problem at the source — converting rust, killing moss, bridging cracks, and sealing flashings — then lock it all in with a flexible, UV-stable finish that lasts. Most are straightforward enough for a confident DIYer to apply.

Use the interactive roof above to find the right product for each problem, or browse the full range below. Not sure what you're dealing with? Our technical team is happy to help you identify the issue and choose the right fix.

The System

How to Apply the System

A lasting roof repair follows four stages. Skipping any one of them is the most common reason repairs fail early.

Clean
Treat and remove moss, mould and algae with MuckOff, then wash back to a clean, sound, contaminant-free surface.
Treat Rust
Treat any rust spots with Rust Converter to stabilise corrosion and prime the surface for coating.
Reinforce
Bed GeoFabric into a base coat over cracks, splits, joins and flashings, then encapsulate it in further coats.
Coat
Finish with the flexible waterproof coating for a durable, UV-stable, watertight repair.
Common Questions

Roof Repair FAQs

Many small repairs are well within reach of a confident DIYer. For cracks, splits, joins and seams, S400 reinforced with GeoFabric is a straightforward DIY repair — clean the area, treat any rust or moss, bed the GeoFabric into a base coat of S400, then build up further coats to encapsulate it. For larger or more critical jobs, or where you'd rather it was specified and installed professionally, an approved applicator can carry out the repair with EcoSeal. Always take care working at height and follow each product's Technical Data Sheet.
Leaks usually trace back to a few common culprits: cracks and splits in the surface, rust breaking through, lifted or failed flashings, and moss holding moisture against the roof. Start by inspecting these points — the interactive roof above shows where they typically occur. If you can't pinpoint the source, or the leak is widespread, get in touch and we'll help you work out the cause.
A repair lasts longest when the cause is treated properly and the surface is well prepared — rust stabilised, moss removed, cracks reinforced, and the coating built up in full. How long it holds depends on that prep, the number of coats, and the conditions the roof is exposed to, so periodic inspection and a re-coat where needed keeps it working. Because DIY application isn't something we can verify, DIY-applied products carry your statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 but not a performance warranty. For a warranted outcome, the work should be carried out by an approved applicator — see our warranty page for details.
Yes — this step is essential. Coating straight over active rust or living moss means the problem keeps spreading underneath, and the coating lifts as it does. Kill and remove moss, mould and algae with MuckOff, and stabilise any rust with Rust Converter, before you seal and coat. Treating the cause first is the difference between a repair that lasts and one that fails within a season.
