Reinforcement Fabric

Stop Cracks Coming Back

GeoFabric Tape is a flexible reinforcement fabric that bridges cracks, joints and movement areas before you coat over them. A coating alone will follow a moving crack and split again — GeoFabric spans it, absorbs the movement, and gives your waterproofing system somewhere solid to sit. It's the difference between a repair that holds and one you'll be back to in a year.

Key Benefits

Bridges Cracks & Movement JointsSpans the gap so the coating isn't asked to do a job it can't do alone.
Moves With the SubstrateFlexible enough to accommodate expansion, contraction and structural movement.
Integrates With the Coating SystemDesigned to embed into our waterproof coatings, becoming part of the membrane rather than sitting under it.
Improves System DurabilityReinforced joints are the ones that last — this is where most waterproofing failures start.

How to Use It

Prepare the surface. Clean, dry and free from contamination — treat any moss or rust first.
Apply a base coat. Lay down a wet coat of your waterproof coating over the joint or crack.
Bed in the fabric. Press the GeoFabric Tape into the wet coating, centred over the joint, working out any air pockets.
Coat over the top. Apply a second coat so the fabric is fully encapsulated — it should become part of the membrane, not a layer beneath it.

Why Reinforce at All?

Waterproof coatings are flexible, but there's a limit to how far they'll stretch across a gap that's actively moving. A hairline crack that opens and closes with temperature will eventually work its way through an unreinforced coating — and the failure will show up exactly where you didn't reinforce. GeoFabric Tape spreads that stress across the fabric instead of concentrating it in a single line of coating. It's a small step at the time of application, and it's the reason the joint is still watertight in five years.

Not Sure Where to Reinforce?

If you're unsure which joints on your project need reinforcing — or how much tape you'll need — talk to our technical team and we'll walk you through it.
